FULLY FUNDED TO NETHERLANDS : Apply for the IHE Delft Dutch Water Trade Scholarship 2026 for International Research MSc Students
Applications are now open for the 2026 Dutch Water Trade Scholarship offered through the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education Water and Development Partnership Programme, supported by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The programme provides fully funded scholarships for students pursuing the two-year Research MSc in Water and Sustainable Development.
The scholarship is linked to an international research initiative examining the impacts of Dutch private sector involvement in global water management and development cooperation. The project explores both the opportunities and challenges associated with Dutch water expertise, particularly its effects on local communities, ecosystems, and water resources.
Selected scholars will participate in research focused on issues such as industrial water extraction, coastal dredging, agribusiness activities, and sustainable water governance. The programme combines academic study, field research, policy engagement, and advocacy work.
About the Scholarship
The initiative aims to strengthen research capacity and support evidence-based discussions on inclusive and sustainable approaches to water development cooperation.
Participants will:
- Conduct MSc research within the Dutch Water Trade project
- Take part in internships connected to policy advocacy and water governance
- Contribute to seminars, academic publications, and project activities
- Work closely with project partners and research teams
Preference will be given to:
- Female applicants
- Candidates with strong academic performance
- Applicants with qualitative social science or ethnographic research experience
- Individuals with relevant professional experience
