Applications are now open for the 2025 Migration Management Diploma Programme. Offered by UNU-MERIT since 2013, the Migration Management Diploma Programme (MMDP) is a capacity-building initiative tailored for government officials and policymakers involved in migration and asylum.

This intensive three-month, full-time programme features a variety of teaching and assessment methods, including lectures, interactive sessions, and practical exercises, with a strong emphasis on the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach.

The 2025 MMDP cohort will take place from March 10, 2025, to May 28, 2025, in Maastricht, the Netherlands.

Programme Structure:

The MMDP consists of three main courses:

1. Migration Management and Protection
2. Migration and Development
3. Migration Policy

Each course runs for four weeks and includes various modules related to the course topic, such as:

- Introduction to Migration Data
- International Migration Law
- Enhancing Migration for Development
- Labour Migration Management
- Diaspora Engagement
- Policy Coherence and Global Migration Governance
- Migration Scenario Building

Diploma:

Participants who successfully complete the course requirements, including assignments and tests, will be awarded a Diploma in Migration Management.

Scholarships:

- A limited number of merit-based scholarships are available, covering all programme costs, including travel to the Netherlands, accommodation, tuition, and course materials.
- To qualify for a scholarship, applicants must demonstrate that they have been employed by the government of an eligible country in the migration and asylum sector.
- Applicants must also provide a letter of support from their employer, confirming that they will remain a paid employee throughout the programme and continue to receive their salary as per their contractual agreement.

Admissions:

Applications are open to professionals and civil servants working in migration management.
