The call for applications is now open for the 2025 edition of the UN SDG Action Awards, a flagship initiative by the UN SDG Action Campaign. This global recognition programme shines a spotlight on individuals and projects that are shaping a better future through ingenuity and forward-thinking approaches. These awards celebrate those who harness imaginative strategies and bold ideas to push the world closer to a future marked by sustainability, equality, and harmony. By amplifying their work, the campaign aims to spark inspiration and demonstrate that meaningful change is not only possible but already underway.

Two key distinctions will be given in this edition of the awards. The first, known as the Creativity Award, will be presented to campaigns or efforts that have sparked tangible change through artistic and inventive means. Whether through music, film, visual art, spoken word, digital platforms, performance, or other creative outlets, these initiatives must demonstrate that they have shifted societal behaviors or perceptions, influenced public discourse, or contributed to policy or funding decisions that favor fairness, sustainability, and peace.

The second honor, called the Changemaker Award, will recognize individuals who have made a remarkable difference within their communities or beyond. These are people who lead transformation by turning ideas into action, forging alliances, and standing firm for justice, equity, and human dignity. Whether leading from the front lines or making quiet but powerful moves behind the scenes, these individuals play a key role in reimagining and reshaping the world. Candidates for this award may be nominated by others or put themselves forward.

Finalists will be invited to attend the Heroes of Tomorrow: UN SDG Action Awards Ceremony, a high-energy event that blends art, storytelling, and uplifting messages from global leaders. This celebration of global impact and innovation will take place on Wednesday, 29 October 2025, in Rome, Italy.
