Fully funded to Sweden : Apply for the UNESCO World Heritage Scholarship 2025
The World Heritage Scholarship, an international residency opportunity, is now accepting applications.
This scholarship is designed for individuals working on cultural projects—such as art, music, research, and more—that are related to the UNESCO World Heritage list. It seeks to create connections between the Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland and other World Heritage sites through artistic or cultural collaboration.
The award includes a 4-week residency at one of Hälsingland's Decorated Farmhouses, along with a SEK 50,000 grant to support living and project expenses.
The scholarship is open to applicants from around the world, including artists, researchers, and other cultural practitioners. Over 300 applicants from 58 countries applied last year. The 2024 scholarship winner, Berlin artist Paul Wiersbinski, was chosen for his project "The Perfect House," which linked the Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland with the Berlin Modernism Housing Estates through an artistic film that merged urban Berlin with rural Hälsingland, inspired by the concept of a perfect house and its connection to historical memory.
The World Heritage Scholarship, focused on the Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland, was established in 2018 by the Region of Gävleborg, Sweden.
Don't miss out on the application deadline which is February 16, 2025.
