FULLY FUNDED TO TAIWAN: Apply for the Global Environmental Education Partnership (GEEP) Youth Innovation Challenge 2025

Applications are now open for the 2025 Youth Innovation Challenge hosted by the Global Environmental Education Partnership (GEEP) in partnership with Taiwan’s Ocean Conservation Administration (OCA). This exciting global opportunity invites passionate young individuals aged 15 to 30 to propose groundbreaking ideas that tackle pressing marine conservation challenges. Through the lens of environmental education, applicants are encouraged to develop creative, research-based, and actionable projects that support ocean protection and community engagement.

The 2025 edition of the challenge is focused on advancing solutions to critical marine issues such as ocean biodiversity, pollution from marine waste, and fostering partnerships between communities, governments, and businesses. Participants must integrate environmental education as a central element of their proposals, ensuring that awareness and learning are key strategies in their solution design. Whether it’s through promoting sustainable fishing, restoring coastal ecosystems, addressing the impact of marine litter, or facilitating cross-sector collaboration, projects should aim to create long-lasting impact.

Young changemakers from around the world are eligible to participate, as long as they are between 15 and 30 years old. Entries must highlight an innovative approach backed by thorough research and practical implementation strategies. Applicants should target one of three focus areas: conserving marine ecosystems, reducing and managing marine debris, or building meaningful collaborations between the private sector and public institutions to enhance marine stewardship.

A helpful informational webinar will be held in May 2025, offering guidance on how to craft a compelling video pitch and written proposal. The deadline for submitting applications is June 30, 2025, by 11:59 PM Eastern Time. An expert panel will review submissions throughout July and August, and selected finalists and winners will be announced in September. All participants may request detailed feedback on their entries. Winners will be honored at a special awards event in Taiwan in October 2025.

This is a unique chance for young environmental leaders to showcase their vision and be part of a global movement to protect the oceans. By blending innovation, environmental education, and real-world impact, the Youth Innovation Challenge provides a platform for young voices to shape a sustainable and ocean-friendly future.
