Fully Funded to USA : Apply for the Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellowship 2024

For the Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellows Summer Institute in 2024, 16–18 year old candidates from all secondary schools and gymnasiums are cordially invited by the U.S. Embassy in Vilnius.

U.S. foreign policy priorities, including youth involvement, democracy and civil society development, and economic success, will be covered over the four-week institute. At Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, the programme will run from June 22 to July 20, 2024.

A four-week exchange programme, the Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellows Summer Institute allows teens, ages 16 to 18, to learn about American foreign policy priorities, youth participation, democracy, civil society, and economic growth. Lectures, seminars, workshops, site visits, volunteer work, social and cultural events, and homestays with American families are all included in the programme. Democratic procedures, handling conflicts, critical thinking, tolerance, diversity, young leadership, teamwork, and media will all be covered by the participants.

Programme Limitations and Requirements

A sincere desire to learn about the people, culture, and institutions of the United States as well as a manifest interest in pursuing leadership prospects in their home countries are required of candidates. Participants are not permitted to enter the country before the Institute's start date or to stay after it concludes. Programme termination may occur immediately for breaking host institution policies, programme guidelines, or local, state, or federal laws. The United States Department of State will pay for everything.

Eligibility Criteria
Strong interests in public service, transatlantic relations, diplomacy, and the free press are requirements for admission to the programme. They must be between the ages of 16 and 18, speak English fluently, be determined to enrol in high school or university in their home countries, show leadership potential, have limited prior study or travel experience in the United States, and be mature, responsible, independent, self-assured, tolerant, and open-minded. They have to feel at ease with coed groups, school life, and cultural differences. Mature social skills, adaptability, open-mindedness, and flexibility are prerequisites for the programme.
