For the O'Brien Fellowship in Public Service Journalism, applications are currently being accepted.

Pay and Perquisites

A salary stipend of $75,000 for nine months, either to your sponsoring organisation or, in the case of independent journalists, directly to the fellow.

A residence allowance up to $7,000 for single, married, or partnered fellows; up to $9,000 for fellows with one child; up to $10,000 for fellows with two children; and up to $12,000 for fellows with three or more children, depending on family requirements, will be provided to fellows who relocate to the Milwaukee metropolitan area for the duration of the fellowship.

The owner of the rental property provides rent invoices to the fellows. Throughout the fellowship, the allowance is paid in equal monthly increments.

an allowance for moving up to $7,000. (Moving allowance recipients are not limited to fellows from the Milwaukee metropolitan region.)
a maximum $10,000 allowance for travel and study. This includes equipment requirements, technology, data, and document expenditures, as well as travel associated to the project.

Where relevant, the fellow's employer continues to pay employee benefits. The Marquette employee health insurance plan is available for selection by independent journalists.
During the fellowship, Marquette University tuition remission for up to seven credits in courses is available to fellows and their spouses.
