FULLY FUNDED TO WELLINGTON, NEW ZEALAND : Apply for the EquiSea 2026 Marine Carbon Dioxide Removal (mCDR) Scientific Cohort
Applications are now open for the EquiSea 2026 Marine Carbon Dioxide Removal (mCDR) Scientific Cohort, a funded capacity-building programme designed for researchers working in ocean acidification and marine carbon cycle science. Organized by The Ocean Foundation's Ocean Science Equity Initiative (EquiSea), the programme aims to strengthen scientific expertise, expand global collaboration, and support researchers from underrepresented regions in advancing marine carbon dioxide removal research.
Selected participants will receive financial support to attend specialized workshops and the 6th International Symposium on the Ocean in a High-CO₂ World, taking place in Wellington, New Zealand, from 13–16 October 2026.
Programme Activities
The selected cohort will participate in:
- A full-day capacity-building workshop on 12 October 2026.
- A networking session with international mCDR experts on 14 October 2026.
- The Ocean in a High-CO₂ World Symposium from 13–16 October 2026 in Wellington, New Zealand.
These activities are designed to strengthen scientific capacity, encourage knowledge exchange, and support future collaboration across regions and career stages.
Priority will be given to applicants from official development assistance recipient (ODA) countries as designated by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
