FULLY FUNDED TRAINEESHIP: Apply for the EU Delegation to Kenya traineeship in Kenya

The 2025 fully funded traineeship for recent graduates at the European Union Delegation in Kenya is now accepting applications. Are you a recent university graduate passionate about global affairs? Do you have a strong desire to learn about the daily operations of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation in Kenya represents European interests and values?

In this position, you will play an integral role in the Political, Press, and Information Department of the EU Delegation in Kenya. Working closely with the political advisor, you will monitor developments in Kenyan politics and provide detailed reports and assessments. Additionally, you will be involved in the Delegation’s engagement with local media. Under the guidance of the Delegation’s Press and Information Officer, you will manage updates to the Delegation’s website and social media platforms. Your tasks will also include supporting the production of promotional materials, compiling press summaries, assisting with the preparation of meetings, and taking notes. Further responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Applicants should possess a degree from an accredited institution and a demonstrated enthusiasm for international relations, political studies, security, commerce, journalism, or related fields, particularly those connected to African issues. Strong research, writing, analytical, and organizational skills are essential. Ideal candidates are effective communicators and committed team players, willing to invest effort and dedication in this internship as an opportunity to advance their professional and personal growth. Familiarity with the EU’s foreign policy, especially with a focus on Africa, will be considered an asset. Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required.

The traineeship will span a six-month period, commencing in October 2025, within the Political, Press, and Information Section at the EU Delegation in Kenya. Selected candidates will be granted a monthly stipend to assist with living costs, though they will need to cover their own expenses for travel, visas, insurance, and accommodation.
