To create a new cohort of innovators interested in initiating participatory programmes to shape climate policy in areas like clean transportation, renewable energy, decarbonisation and energy-efficient homes, air pollution, agroecology, and more, People Powered's Climate Democracy Accelerator (CDA) is seeking leaders from the public and private sectors.
Applicants must be non-governmental organisations, civil society organisations, or governmental entities in order to be considered for this programme. Applications from all over the world are welcome, and each cohort of the programme can accommodate up to 15 participants.
A six-month training and support programme called the Climate Democracy Accelerator (CDA) equips participants to design and carry out a fair and inclusive process for a just climate transition. A project to implement a participatory programme with a climate focus that takes into account the needs and opinions of local communities will be developed by participants. Selected applicants will receive the following: Step-by-step resources like the Participation Playbook, an interactive online tool for building participatory programmes; and access to a dedicated mentor to assist with the development of their programme.
Participants' Expectations
Create a project or action plan that will be carried out with the help of the program's resources.
Involve stakeholders both inside and outside the company to create an action plan.
Attend and take part in sessions and activities devoted to mentorship and peer assistance.
Report on the status of the project using surveys and learning summaries.

Policymakers, employees, and government representatives who wish to start or enhance a cutting-edge participatory programme. Please take note that in order to increase community support for the programme, they strongly advise partnering with a non-governmental organisation or member of civil society.
It is recommended that organisations choose a lead participant with professional English language ability. Applications must be based in one of the 27 Horizon Europe or EU Member States (Albania, Armenia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Faroe Islands, Georgia, Iceland, Israel, Kosovo, Morocco, Moldova, Montenegro, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Tunisia, Türkiye, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom) in order to be eligible for the programme.
