FULLY FUNDED:Apply For The Tejumola Olaniyan Creative Writers-in-Residence Fellowship 2026 For Global Changemakers

Applications are open for the Tejumola Olaniyan Creative Writers-in-Residence Fellowship 2026, a prestigious residency offered by The Africa Institute, Global Studies University in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. This fellowship supports imaginative and impactful writers connected to Africa and the African diaspora — including novelists, playwrights, poets, scriptwriters, and short-form authors — by giving them dedicated time, space, and resources to develop a major literary project. Recipients will take part in a three-month residency in Sharjah where they can focus on completing or advancing their work while engaging with a community of creatives and scholars. The fellowship honors the legacy of the late Nigerian literary critic and scholar Tejumola Olaniyan and reflects the Institute’s commitment to nurturing African literary voices in global contexts.
