Fully Sponsored Training Opportunity : Be part of the Building Resilient Agriculture System Programs
Despite being a vital resource, land degradation is a major problem worldwide, especially in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), which accounts for 20% of ecosystem services and 16% of the world's land.
Nearly 70% of its lands have been damaged by unsustainable practices and deforestation, which has resulted in nutrient loss, erosion, and decreased agricultural output. Climate change exacerbates these issues, threatening food security and prompting internal migration.
Sustainable landscape management (SLM) combines ecological, social, and economic approaches to improve resilience, rehabilitate degraded areas, and guarantee fair resource usage in order to solve this.
In order to scale sustainable solutions and improve the livelihoods of SSA people, it combines five modules: field excursions to the Senegal River Valley, climate-smart agriculture, inclusive policies, collaborative learning, and theoretical instruction on resilient landscapes.
Location: Saint Louis, Senegal
