FUNDED : Apply for the Climate Resilience & Sustainability Short Courses for Young Africans 2026
Applications are now open for the Africa Climate Collaborative Professional Short Courses 2026, a funded training initiative designed to equip young Africans in Ghana with practical skills in climate resilience, sustainability, GIS, and natural resource governance.
The programme is delivered in partnership with the Department of Geography and Resource Development at the University of Ghana and supported by the Mastercard Foundation.
Participants will take part in intensive three-week learning modules offered through weekday, weekend, and hybrid formats. The courses are aimed at helping young professionals, students, and emerging climate leaders gain career-focused expertise that supports sustainable development across Africa.
Available Training Pathways
Applicants can choose from several specialized modules, including:
- Climate Change, Equity and Inclusion
- Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Geointelligence
- Smart Land Use and Spatial Planning
- Remote Sensing for Natural Resource Governance
- GIS for Image Analysis
- Geospatial Technology Master
- Natural Resource Specialist
- GIS for Sustainable Natural Resource Management
- Galamsey and Risk Intelligence Mapping
- GIS for Land Use and Spatial Decision Support
Funding Support
The programme offers up to 100% course fee waivers for eligible applicants between the ages of 18 and 35.
Priority consideration will be given to:
- Women
- Persons with disabilities
- Refugees and internally displaced persons
- Unemployed young people residing in Ghana
Each course module is valued at GHS 4,500, covering training materials, instruction, and programme support.
