Applications are now open for the eighth cohort of the Doha Debates Ambassador Program, with submissions due by December 15, 2025. This virtual fellowship brings together young leaders from around the world who are eager to rethink how societies discuss difficult issues, solve shared problems, and imagine a more just and healthy future through the Majlis approach to dialogue.

The program brings together a carefully selected group of inquisitive, open-minded individuals who are committed to navigating complex global challenges through respectful, solution-oriented conversation. Participants come from a wide range of backgrounds, but they share a deep interest in truth-seeking, critical thinking and bridging divides. They are guided by seasoned facilitators, including experts in communication, systems thinking and intercultural understanding, who help them develop the ability to recognize patterns across global systems, consider differing perspectives, and approach disagreements with empathy and flexibility.

This initiative exists because young people everywhere need collaborative spaces that encourage new ways of thinking and engaging. Today’s most pressing issues demand a generation that can hold difficult conversations, build consensus, and harness global diversity as a strength. The Ambassadors Program creates that environment — a place where emerging leaders can build community, strengthen their dialogue skills and grow into thoughtful voices capable of influencing positive change.

Throughout the fellowship, participants meet weekly with specialists and peers to refine their abilities. By blending systems thinking with the Majlis style of discussion, they strengthen their communication, storytelling and intercultural navigation skills. Fellows learn to express their perspectives clearly, understand the motivations behind the viewpoints of others, form lasting bonds within an international cohort, and take part in Doha Debates activities that broaden their exposure and networks. They also gain experience in hosting constructive conversations in their own communities, whether online or in person.

The program unfolds in two stages. The first phase, a Community of Practice running from January 20 to February 10, 2026, introduces successful applicants to the foundations of consensus-based dialogue and collaborative problem-solving. Weekly online sessions, forum discussions and ongoing communication help participants practice these skills while building a shared learning space. Those who complete this stage earn a digital credential and are invited to join the full ambassador cohort.

The second phase, held from February 17 to April 7, 2026, expands on the first by offering eight additional weeks of guided learning, deeper dialogue practice and teamwork. Participants work in small groups on a final project that reflects the core principles of the program. Regular virtual meetings, forum discussions and group communication form the backbone of this stage. Graduates receive an official certificate and gain access to additional opportunities within the Doha Debates network.

Eligible applicants must be between 18 and 26 years old at the start of the program, have reliable internet access, and be fluent in English. Full participation in all twelve virtual gatherings is required, and preference may be given to those who complete the “Introduction to the Majlis” course on the Participate platform.
