The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) is in charge of organising global initiatives to end hunger, ensure food security for all, and guarantee that people have regular access to enough wholesome food to enjoy active, healthy lifestyles. FAO operates in more than 130 countries worldwide and has 195 members. We think that there is a role for everyone in putting an end to hunger.

Details of the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) Fellowship:
The goal of the Fellows Programme is to draw fellows with advanced technical expertise and experience in any area of the Organisation. Fellows are usually PhD candidates, researchers, and professors. In addition to completing their specialised learning goals, they are prepared to share their technical know-how and expertise with FAO through agreements that include time constraints.

Program Benefits
Fellows get no compensation from FAO. Fellows ought to have full external sponsorship. The application should include the name of the sponsoring institution or institutions.


Eligibility Criteria
a recent graduate, hold a graduate or post-graduate degree (Master's or PhD), or be enrolled in a PhD study in a "bona fide" educational institution at the time of application. The World Higher Education Database (WHED), a list updated by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), is the only source of higher education credentials that FAO will accept.

Candidates should have a minimum of two years of relevant research or professional experience in one of the Organization's areas of expertise.
Proficiency in a minimum of one FAO language, namely Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish. Proficiency in a second FAO language will be deemed advantageous.
