FUNDED : Apply for the Global Dialogue Lab South Africa 2026 — Applications Open
Applications are now open for the Global Dialogue Lab South Africa 2026, an international professional development programme designed to strengthen educators’ capacity to lead meaningful dialogue in learning environments and foster inclusive school cultures.
The initiative will convene approximately 65 educators from Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, the United States, and the United Kingdom to collaborate, exchange experiences, and build practical skills for dialogue-based education and leadership.
About the Programme
The Global Dialogue Lab responds to growing educational challenges shaped by social division, uncertainty, and rapid global change. The programme supports educators in creating learning spaces where dialogue becomes a tool for leadership, conflict transformation, and community engagement.
Participants engage in a structured learning journey combining personal reflection, experiential learning, and institutional analysis. The aim is to help educators translate dialogue practices into real-world action within their schools and communities.
Programme Structure
The programme follows a hybrid format:
Online Learning Phase
- May – July 2026
- Approximately 15–20 hours of virtual sessions
In-Person Lab
- 8–15 August 2026
- Johannesburg, South Africa
- Eight-day immersive experience (excluding travel days)
Post-Programme Engagement
- Monthly peer-learning meetings
- September – December 2026
Learning Outcomes
Participants will:
- Strengthen dialogue facilitation and inclusive leadership skills
- Develop emotional intelligence and reflective teaching practices
- Design context-specific strategies for dialogue-based learning
- Apply tools for inclusion, conflict transformation, and collaboration
- Share learning within schools through peer engagement and leadership initiatives
- Build lasting cross-regional educator networks

Additional Information

- Work directly with students, preferably aged 14–17
- Have at least 2–3 years of teaching or student leadership experience
- Maintain regular engagement with learners to apply dialogue practices after the programme
- Receive encouragement or support from school leadership (preferred)
Applications from educator pairs — particularly including a school leader or administrator — are encouraged to strengthen implementation outcomes. Individual applications remain eligible.
