Applications are now being accepted for the seventh edition of the Doha Debates Ambassador Program, with a deadline set for July 20, 2025. This initiative is a dynamic, mentor-led online gathering that brings together young visionaries from around the world who are passionate about transforming public conversations, rethinking solutions to pressing global challenges, and shaping a more just and inclusive world through thoughtful, dialogue-based engagement.

The participants selected for this cohort are a distinguished group of intellectually driven, truth-seeking individuals who represent a wide range of cultures and perspectives. They are dedicated to engaging in meaningful exchanges around the world’s most urgent issues, seeking common understanding, and working toward lasting change. These future leaders are committed to driving progress by cultivating dialogue, sharpening their analytical thinking, and embracing inclusive and adaptable approaches.

Under the guidance of global discourse and intercultural communication specialist Dr. Brandon Ferderer, and systems-thinking expert Jennifer Geist, participants adopt a holistic perspective on today’s complex challenges. They gain tools to examine interconnected systems, appreciate overlooked perspectives—especially those from marginalized voices—and develop strategies to create solutions that are fair, practical, and sustainable.

This program exists to empower young people to think and act beyond conventional boundaries. Today’s youth need collaborative spaces where they can challenge the status quo, build a supportive global community, and strengthen skills that allow them to unite differing viewpoints into collective, meaningful action. The Majlis-inspired format offers a nurturing environment for bold, respectful, and open conversation, enabling participants to learn, reflect, and lead together.

Throughout the experience, participants meet regularly online to engage with mentors and fellow cohort members. They gain valuable skills in areas such as framing and leading global issue discussions, understanding cross-cultural dynamics, and exploring both personal and collective connections to larger global problems. They also learn how to tell compelling personal narratives that foster understanding and spark action, while forming enduring bonds with a network of peers from various backgrounds. Participants are introduced to the broader Doha Debates ecosystem, providing them with long-term opportunities to connect and grow.

The upcoming cycle of the program unfolds in two stages. The first phase, running from September 2 to 30, 2025, introduces participants to the key principles of dialogue and mutual understanding. During this five-week period, applicants who consistently participate will receive a credential recognizing their involvement and will be invited to continue into the full ambassador program.

During this phase, participants are expected to engage approximately 3 to 4 hours per week through live video sessions every Tuesday, an online discussion forum, and messaging platforms like WhatsApp and email. Those who complete this segment earn a digital credential that can be added to professional networks such as LinkedIn.

The second phase, scheduled from October 14 to December 2, 2025, is open to those who successfully complete the initial stage. This phase goes deeper into dialogue training and teamwork, culminating in a group project. Participants will dedicate around 4 to 5 hours weekly to activities including live discussions, online forum engagement, and group communication. At the end of this stage, participants receive an official certificate and join an active alumni network with access to future collaboration opportunities, events, and mentorship roles.

To be considered for this program, applicants must be between 18 and 26 years of age as of September 2, 2025, have consistent internet access, speak fluent English, and be available for all scheduled sessions. Priority will be given to those who complete the introductory Majlis dialogue course hosted on the Doha Debates learning platform.
