FUNDED : Apply for The TaRL Africa Fellowship Programme 2.0
The TaRL Africa Fellowship Programme is designed to build technical capacity for Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) in Sub-Saharan Africa by developing skilled leaders who will advance TaRL’s mission to ensure all children gain foundational skills.
Through this fellowship, experienced classroom leaders from across Africa will broaden their expertise, gain exposure to diverse contexts, and enhance their design, training, and mentoring abilities to support TaRL's growth on the continent.
Fellows will engage in capacity-building activities led by TaRL Africa, committing 15% of their time (50 days over 18 months) to the programme, which includes training workshops to refine TaRL skills, co-designing and adapting TaRL programmes with the Pratham team across new African contexts, creating tailored teaching-learning materials, and building mentoring and problem-solving skills. They will also collaborate with peers to overcome classroom challenges and contribute to TaRL's regional programme improvements.
Upon successful completion, Fellows will be certified as TaRL Trainers and featured on the TaRL website, joining an active Alumni network with the motto, "Once a TaRL Fellow, always a TaRL Fellow."
The fellowship covers several core objectives:
- Providing instructional support to learners, teachers, and communities
- Developing TaRL materials and adapting the programme for diverse contexts
- Strengthening master trainers and mentors
- Utilizing data for monitoring and TaRL programming improvements
Fellows must fulfill specific responsibilities to graduate, including participating in the TaRL Advanced Training in March 2025, supporting programme creation in new African contexts, aiding in training rollouts, quality control, and ongoing engagement with TaRL Africa activities.
