Applications are open for the UNDP timbuktoo Launchpad CreativeTech Startup Incubation Programme 2026, a pan-African initiative designed to support innovative CreativeTech startups developing technology-enabled solutions for Africa’s growing creative economy. Hosted through the UNDP timbuktoo Creatives Hub in South Africa, the programme connects promising entrepreneurs with leading incubators, mentors, investors, and ecosystem partners to help them build scalable businesses.

The programme is ideal for startups working across sectors such as digital media, animation, gaming, music, film, design, creator economy platforms, immersive technologies, artificial intelligence, and other technology-driven creative solutions. Through structured incubation and access to a continent-wide innovation ecosystem, selected startups will receive the support needed to strengthen their businesses, improve investment readiness, and expand into new markets. Program Benefits
Selected startups will participate in a structured incubation programme delivered by accredited African incubators. Participants will receive mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs and industry experts, gain access to the Seedstars SIGMA platform for startup development and AI-powered guidance, connect with a pan-African network of founders and innovation partners, receive investment readiness support including pitch development and investor engagement, participate in demo days and ecosystem events, and gain potential pathways to acceleration programmes and early-stage investment opportunities. Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be founders of CreativeTech startups based in Africa or developing solutions for African markets. Eligible startups should have a prototype or Minimum Viable Product (MVP), a committed founding team, and a technology-enabled solution that addresses opportunities within the creative economy. Businesses should demonstrate strong growth potential and scalability. UNDP particularly encourages applications from women-led startups, youth entrepreneurs, and founders from underserved communities. (⁠UNDP)
Eligible Countries
The programme is open to startups from all African countries. Entrepreneurs building innovative CreativeTech solutions for African markets are encouraged to apply regardless of their country of residence within the continent. (⁠UNDP)
