FUNDED : Apply for the UNITAR’s Global Human Resource Development Programme for Peacebuilding and Development 2026

Applications are open for the Young professionals interested in building careers in peacebuilding, international development, and multilateral cooperation to apply for the Primary Course of the Program for Global Human Resource Development for Peacebuilding and Development.

The programme combines online learning with in-person training in Japan, providing participants with practical skills, international exposure, and opportunities to collaborate with peers and experts working to address global challenges.

The initiative is commissioned by Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and implemented by Hiroshima University in partnership with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme.

About the Programme

The Global Human Resource Development for Peacebuilding and Development Programme was established to strengthen the capacity of current and aspiring professionals working in peacebuilding and sustainable development.

Delivered through Hiroshima University's Global Peace and Development Career Network (GPAD), the programme draws on the expertise of university faculty, experienced practitioners, and former and current United Nations professionals from around the world.

Participants benefit from an interactive learning environment that combines academic knowledge with practical experience and peer learning.

Programme Highlights

The Primary Course offers participants the opportunity to:

  • Develop practical knowledge in peacebuilding and international development.
  • Strengthen leadership and problem-solving skills for global challenges.
