FUNDING : Check out the 2024 Mastercard Foundation FAST Program For Africans

The Mastercard Foundation Fund for Alumni Start-ups in Transition (FAST) program has officially launched! The Mastercard Foundation FAST Program is thrilled to announce this.

With up to $15,000 in funding per project, the Mastercard Foundation FAST program will encourage and enable the next generation of business owners.

The Mastercard Foundation is pleased to announce the opening of the Mastercard Foundation Fund for Alumni Start-ups in Transition (FAST) program. This initiative is made possible by partnerships with CCHub Nigeria, MDF Global, Concree, Scale up, Savannah Innovations Lab, the Centre for Enterprising Organisations, Inkomoko, and the Africa Leadership Academy (ALA).

One of the biggest foundations worldwide, the Mastercard Foundation is a recognised charity with charitable registration in Canada. It collaborates with forward-thinking groups to promote financial inclusion and education so that young people in Canada's Indigenous communities and Africa can find respectable and meaningful employment.

The program provides a special opportunity for alumni of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), African Leadership Academy (ALA), Anzisha Prize, and Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program. It is available to prospective entrepreneurs or those just starting out in entrepreneurship.

Program Benefits
Two crucial phases of support will be offered by the Mastercard Foundation FAST program to help entrepreneurs at various stages of their journey:

Idea Phase: Up to $5,000 to aid in the early development and improvement of concepts.
Build Phase: Ten to fifteen thousand dollars to turn the concepts into workable business plans.
In addition to training in business development and access to capital, participants will also benefit from a network of mentors and other like-minded business owners.
Eligibility Criteria
possess a business, which needs to be the (planned or existing) business

A for-profit company (non-profit organisations are not eligible for FAST)
owned by the majority of former participants in at least one of these four initiatives: Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), African Leadership Academy (ALA), Anzisha Prize, and Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program.
situated in one of the eligible nations (the complete list of eligible nations can be found on the application form).
