Applications are now open for the 2024 LEAP Africa Social Innovators Programme. In 2004, LEAP Africa realized that while there were many negative stories about young people in Nigeria, there weren't enough stories about the good things they were doing to make Nigeria better. So, they started the Annual Nigerian Youth Leadership Awards (ANYLA) in Lagos to celebrate young Nigerians who were doing great things.

After about ten years, LEAP Africa saw that more young people were interested in making positive changes in their communities, but they didn't always have the skills or support they needed to make their ideas work.
So, in 2013, they changed the programme to the Social Innovators Programme and Awards (SIPA). This programme helps young people who want to make a difference by giving them the skills and resources they need to start projects that will help their communities in the long term.
