For young people and youth-led organisations engaged in climate action-focused projects, Y4C's Call for Solutions is a global innovation competition. The Call is to support the advancement of youth-led ideas and initiatives by offering pertinent learning opportunities with partners' assistance, as well as to fund both new and current youth-led solutions that are prepared for implementation or scaling.
Youth4Climate has provided an envelope of USD 2.5 million in direct support to 100 youth-led climate projects in 52 countries since 2023 through the first two rounds of its Call for Solutions.
Back Ground
The world's youngest generation, numbering 1.9 billion, is the largest in history. As negotiators, innovators, entrepreneurs, and change agents, young people are increasingly recognised as essential contributors to transformative climate action. They do, however, lack the necessary political, financial, and technical means and assistance to realise their goals.
In response, through the worldwide Youth4Climate project (Y4C), the Italian government and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in partnership with various knowledge partners and young constituencies, have set out to identify, support, and scale youth-led climate breakthroughs.
With the opening of its third annual Call for Solutions, Youth4Climate is currently accepting applications from young people and youth-led organisations engaged in creative climate projects.

Offerings for capacity building include a mentorship program that includes one-on-one mentoring, group workshops, and chances for project pitching and evaluation.
A youth-led civil society organisation (CSO), non-governmental organisation (NGO), community-based organisation (CBO), or business that is legally registered and has a majority of its leadership comprised of young people between the ages of 18 and 29 at the time of application submission. Please take note that the organization's project lead should be between the ages of 18 and 29.
One of the nations specified in the Call rules must host the proposed project.
The project lead must be a national of one of the countries listed in the Annex of the Call guidelines.
