HYBRID INTERIM POSITION : WRAP is looking for an Interim Programme Lead – Climate Action

Job Type: Full-time / 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Location: Banbury, London, Cardiff, or Belfast – you will be contractually based at the nearest office to you, with hybrid working options.

Hybrid Working: You will have the flexibility to work from home, while also coming into the office to collaborate with your team when necessary. The Role

As the interim Programme Lead for Climate Action, you'll be part of the fast-growing Food System Transformation leadership team, with a focus on our Water and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) programmes. In this role, you'll provide leadership to specialist teams, guiding them through a new phase for the Climate Action Team within Food Systems Transformation. While experience in food, GHG, and water management is beneficial, you'll have access to expert support and external consultants.

Reporting to the Head of Food Systems Transformation, you'll collaborate with Strategic Engagement Managers and Delivery Leads to develop strategies and funding opportunities.

In the UK, WRAP's food pact, The Courtauld Commitment 2030, has set ambitious targets, including sourcing 50% of the UK’s fresh food from regions with sustainable water management and cutting GHG emissions associated with food and drink by 50% by 2030 (compared to a 2015 baseline). This role will be key in achieving these targets and reducing the environmental impact of food systems globally.

Key Responsibilities (for 6-month FTC):
- Develop and deliver impact-focused programme strategies, working with Programme Delivery, Partnerships, Government, and Business Engagement teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Lead and inspire a diverse team of experts, supporting their professional growth and development during a period of change.
- Maintain senior-level partnerships with businesses, government, funders, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment with programme goals and identifying opportunities for growth in the Climate Action programmes.
- Represent WRAP and the Food Systems Transformation team at external meetings, events, and workshops as necessary.

The ideal candidate will be solutions-oriented, with:

- Experience developing and implementing sustainability strategies that drive impact.
- Strong collaboration skills, with a track record of developing high-performing, happy teams.
- Experience leading programme teams in multi-stakeholder environments, engaging with senior stakeholders, and working across teams to design and deliver holistic programmes.
- Ability to lead problem-solving efforts both internally and externally, working with high autonomy and a passion for creating scalable solutions that drive impact and revenue growth.
