The Position
- Job Type: Full-time
- Location: Banbury, London, Cardiff, or Belfast – You will be based at the nearest office with flexible hybrid working arrangements.
- Hybrid Working: You’ll have the option to work from home and come to the office as needed for team collaboration. We offer flexible core hours and don't emphasize presenteeism. We'll discuss your preferences during the recruitment process.

The Role
As a Senior Specialist in Plastics and Packaging, you will play a key role in helping keep plastic within the economy and out of the environment, while expanding this effort to all packaging materials. Your expertise will guide practical solutions and best practices both in the UK and internationally.
Your responsibilities include:
- Leading efforts on packaging circularity, including the impact of packaging reforms on collection, recycling, and market demands.
- Addressing capacity needs and investment in critical infrastructure.
- Driving collaboration across the packaging value chain.
- Providing technical support to the international Plastics Pact network.
Key tasks include:
- Identifying market barriers to circularity and engaging stakeholders to overcome them.
- Collaborating with industry to create ambitious action plans for packaging reform.
- Leading a team in delivering impactful projects and identifying environmental and economic opportunities.
- Translating complex information into actionable reports and tools for the public and private sectors.
- Motivating your team to achieve strategic goals.
Who We're Looking For
- Deep technical knowledge of the packaging value chain, barriers to circularity, and key impact areas.
- Familiarity with packaging policy and its effects on design, collection, recycling, and investments.
- Strong advocacy and stakeholder engagement skills, able to communicate effectively with UK and international audiences.
- Ability to simplify complex topics into impactful guidance, reports, and presentations.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire teams.
