Location: Hybrid (Banbury, London, Cardiff, or Belfast)
Salary: £45,700 - £48,000 per annum

The Role:
As a Specialist in Waste and Recycling Policy, you will be integral in helping to shape the development of waste management policies that create lasting, positive environmental impacts. Working within WRAP’s Policy and Insights team, you will collaborate with government stakeholders, businesses, and local authorities to drive policy measures that improve recycling practices and waste management across sectors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Policy Design and Advocacy: Work with government and other stakeholders to design waste management policies that foster environmental and financial benefits.
- Project Management: Lead and manage waste-related projects, ensuring successful delivery and the development of new policies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with technical experts, analysts, and project teams to deliver the best outcomes for WRAP’s government funders.
- Communication: Translate complex waste management and recycling challenges into impactful policy advice and initiatives, making the case for change in a clear, compelling way.

Additional Information
We’re seeking a candidate with:
Specialist Knowledge: Strong experience in waste management, specifically in Local Authority or business waste collection, or treatment of recycling/organics streams.
Strong Advocacy Skills: The ability to engage with a diverse range of audiences, both in writing and in person, to advocate for policy changes.
Analytical Mindset: The ability to understand complex issues and translate them into actionable, effective policy and initiatives.
Change-Maker: A proven track record of driving change and implementing solutions.
Excellent Communication Skills: Experience explaining technical issues to non-technical audiences with clarity and impact.
