PAID FELLOWSHIP: Apply for the Latin America and the Caribbean Climate Fellowship 2025 for young changemakers

This fellowship is designed to support entrepreneurs across Latin America and the Caribbean who are building solutions focused on climate action—particularly in the areas of mitigation, adaptation, and resilience. Selected founders will benefit from advanced training, access to vital resources, and two in-person residency experiences in the region to help accelerate the growth of their ventures.

Participants in the program will come from various climate-related sectors, such as renewable energy systems, sustainable building innovations, environmental data technologies, climate-resilient agriculture, water-related innovations, and ocean-based (blue economy) solutions.

The fellowship will bring together a select group of up to ten early-stage ventures led by entrepreneurs working to tackle the climate crisis in the LAC region. Founders will receive intensive training based on Halcyon’s proven methodologies in areas like market positioning, fundraising strategy, and organizational leadership. The program includes a virtual orientation session, a one-week residency in Mexico City, monthly online meetings, and a second in-person residency in Colombia.

The program timeline includes several key milestones: applications close on May 30, 2025. Finalists will be invited to pitch virtually to a selection committee between June 30 and July 1, with final decisions communicated by July 8. The fellowship officially kicks off with a virtual meeting on August 15, followed by the first in-person residency in Mexico City from August 25–29. Additional virtual sessions are scheduled for September 25, October 23, and November 6, leading up to the second residency in Colombia from November 17–21.

Participants will receive a variety of benefits, including a $5,000 equity-free stipend per venture to support travel costs for the residencies and $10,000 in Amazon Web Services credits. Fellows will also engage in hands-on workshops led by industry professionals covering topics such as market fit, investor readiness, and strategic leadership. Access to experienced advisors, networking opportunities with investors and climate sector stakeholders, and entry into a global community of nearly 600 mission-driven founders are also part of the offering.

To be eligible, applicants must lead for-profit startups that offer scalable solutions to climate challenges and operate within or serve the Latin American and Caribbean region. Ventures must already have a minimum viable product and be led full-time by the applying founder, who must be at least 21 years old and fluent in English. Only one co-founder may join the application, and the primary applicant should be the CEO or key decision-maker. Active participation in all aspects of the program is required. Ventures must also align with at least one of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Applications are reviewed based on four key pillars: the potential impact of the solution, its scalability, the originality of the idea, and the strength of the founding team.
