INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY:Apply For The URA Internship Programme 2026/2027 – Uganda Revenue Authority

Applications are open for the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Internship Programme 2026/2027. The programme is designed to provide university students with practical work experience and exposure to Uganda’s tax administration environment. Through the internship, students gain hands-on training, professional mentorship, and an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a real working environment within one of Uganda’s leading government agencies.  

URA offers internship placements in several functional areas including Domestic Taxes, Customs, Information Technology, Finance, Procurement, Human Resources, Administration, Internal Audit, Intelligence and Investigations, Tax Academy, and Strategy and Risk Management. The internship programme usually runs for approximately three months and attracts students from various universities across Uganda.

Successful interns receive practical workplace exposure and an opportunity to develop professional skills while working with experienced URA staff. The programme helps students understand Uganda’s tax administration systems and public service operations while improving their employability and career readiness.

Interns also gain networking opportunities, mentorship, teamwork experience, and exposure to real projects and assignments across different departments within the Authority. The experience can strengthen a student’s CV and prepare them for future employment opportunities in both public and private sectors.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be continuing students enrolled at recognized universities or tertiary institutions. Candidates are generally expected to be pursuing academic programmes related to the internship fields advertised by URA. Eligible disciplines commonly include Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Procurement, Human Resource Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Law, Public Administration, Logistics, and other related programmes.

Students are usually required to provide an introduction or recommendation letter from their institution confirming that the internship forms part of their academic programme. Applicants should also possess good communication skills, integrity, willingness to learn, and the ability to work in a professional environment.

Open primarily to students studying in Uganda and eligible international students enrolled in recognized institutions within Uganda.
