The Global Environment Facility (GEF) is a multilateral funding organization focused on tackling biodiversity loss, climate change, pollution, and promoting the health of land and oceans. It provides financial support to developing countries to help them address complex environmental challenges and achieve international environmental goals.

The partnership involves 186 member governments, along with civil society, Indigenous Peoples, women, and youth, emphasizing integration and inclusivity. Over the last 30 years, the GEF has allocated more than $25 billion in funding and mobilized over $145 billion for country-driven priority projects.
