3. Head of the UNESCO-IOC Secretariat for the ICG/IOTWMS
Based in Perth, Australia, this position leads the Secretariat supporting the Indian Ocean Tsunami Warning and Mitigation System (ICG/IOTWMS) and contributes to strengthening tsunami early warning and preparedness across the region and globally.
Key tasks: Coordinate and implement the ICG/IOTWMS work programme and its intergovernmental activities, lead capacity development, training and cooperation initiatives on tsunami warning and preparedness, manage Secretariat staff, partnerships, resources and reporting to Member States and donors.
