The UN Migration Organisation (IOM) is seeking a Regional Emergency and Post-Crisis Officer (UG) to be based in Cairo (Egypt).
The Regional Emergency and Post-Crisis Officer will oversee and analyze regional themes, support the development of regional themes for projects and strategies, support the review and endorsement of projects pertaining to the Emergency and Post-Crisis (EPC) thematic areas of expertise in the region, and support field assessments and operations. The Officer will report to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Regional Director and will be technically overseen by the Directors of the Department :
Along with other units in the Cairo Regional Office, such as Migration Health and Psychosocial Assistance, Migration Environment and Climate Change, Migrant Assistance, Labour Mobility and Human and Immigration and Border Management, and the Regional Data Hub, the Regional Emergency and Post-Crisis Officer works closely with pertinent Divisions of the DOE and DPDC at Headquarters (HQ). They will specifically assist IOM's continuing emergency relief, transition, stabilisation, and recovery operations throughout the MENA Region with technical and programme development support. Additionally, they will collaborate with Country Offices (COs) to create plans addressing long-term internal displacement, property and land, resilience, and community stabilisation.

Supporting crisis response planning and execution in the MENA Region, evaluating and monitoring project proposals, assisting with information and research needs, and encouraging the integration of resilience and risk reduction perspectives are among the primary responsibilities of this role. Along with preparing appeals, they participate in interagency working groups and support the evaluation of the initiatives of the Country Offices and Regional Offices. In addition to supporting the creation and distribution of reports on Emergency and Post Crisis (EPC)-related activities, they advise COs on donor policies and funding prospects. Additionally, they back national and regional programmes aimed at enhancing Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) capacities and facilitate cooperation discussions with the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR). They travel on duty and serve as the regional hub for IOM's resilience-based programming activities.
