Early-career researchers from around the world are invited to take part in a unique scientific opportunity contributing to global climate knowledge through the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Applications are now open for participation in the coordinated group review of the First Order Draft (FOD) of the Seventh Assessment Report (AR7), specifically under Working Group I: The Physical Science Basis.
About the Opportunity
This initiative allows emerging researchers to engage directly in the IPCC assessment process—one of the most influential global efforts shaping climate science and policy. Participants will collaborate in a structured group review coordinated by leading early-career research networks.
The review process will run alongside the official IPCC expert review period scheduled from 10 August to 2 October 2026, with preparatory activities beginning earlier in the year.
What Participants Will Do
Selected reviewers will:

Contribute to the review of assigned chapters or sections (approx. 10–30 pages)

Participate in training, onboarding, and coordination sessions

Collaborate with an international network of early-career researchers
Estimated Time Commitment: 30–50 hours (including training and review work)
