The UN Decade Coordinator is inviting new members to join the Youth Task Force. If you are passionate about ecosystem restoration or know someone who is, you are encouraged to apply or nominate candidates by filling out the application form. The Youth Task Force plays a vital role in ensuring that young people have a significant voice in the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. This initiative aligns with the United Nations Youth 2030 Strategy, highlighting the importance of youth engagement.

The first Youth Task Force completed its two-year term on 31 December 2023, and the UN Decade Coordinator expresses deep gratitude to the young experts and advocates who contributed their time and effort to this essential work.

Role and Responsibilities:
As a member of the Youth Task Force, you will have the opportunity to:

- Contribute to policy advocacy: Offer advice to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the lead agencies of the UN Decade.
- Facilitate youth action: Support and amplify youth-led initiatives for ecosystem restoration.
- Foster knowledge exchange: Create opportunities for capacity building and sharing insights among youth groups.

The membership term is two years, with the option for renewal. Members from the first term may be reappointed based on their contributions.

Selection Process:
Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee, which will consider factors such as geographical representation, gender balance, and relevant expertise. Eligible youth leaders and advocates are encouraged to apply and share this opportunity within their networks.
