PAID INTERNSHIP : Check out these Internships at U.S. Department of State for undergraduate & graduate students

Paid internships are being offered by the U.S. Department of State in an effort to give students from a variety of backgrounds a thorough grasp of international relations and diplomacy. Interns will be compensated with GS-04/Step 1 base pay and work 40 hours per week while working full-time. Together with helping with housing, the programme also pays for modest travel expenditures.

Working in U.S. embassies and consulates across the globe, as well as in several bureaus situated in Washington, D.C., and in Department offices across the country, is possible during this paid internship. The purpose of this programme is to offer in-depth education in the context of international relations.

While participants in the U.S. Department of State Student Internship Programme have different responsibilities in different offices, bureaus, and embassies, these students frequently do the following tasks:

Attend meetings with high ranking officials of the United States or other governments.

Author, edit, or contribute to cables, reports, communications, talking points, or other documents that legislators utilise to further the goals of US foreign policy.
Provide support for events, such as conferences and meetings that are international or multilateral
Actively engage domestic audiences to assist explain the Department of State's work, or international audiences to help advance American foreign policy and deepen comprehension of American society and culture.

Internships are available at the bureau level through the U.S. Department of State Student Internship Programme, which includes both functional and geographic bureaus. These agencies manage foreign policy for designated areas and nations, including the Western Hemisphere, East Asia, and Africa. Functional bureaus, such as those in charge of administration, consular affairs, diplomatic security, legislative affairs, global talent management, and overseas buildings operations, concentrate on particular problems and crucial tasks. Additionally, internships are offered by American embassies, consulates, and diplomatic posts overseas.

Under the U.S. Department of State Student Internship Programme, students can work in a variety of Washington, D.C. bureaus as well as U.S. embassies and field offices around the globe. This programme is paid. The purpose of this programme is to give participants meaningful experiences in the field of international policy.

Paid interns will work for the U.S. Department of State as temporary employees and be paid as GS-04/Step 1 base pay.
Retirement benefits cannot be earned for the internship service unless and until the intern is hired for a career employment with the federal government.
In addition to helping with accommodation, the programme pays for modest travel costs to and from the internship.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for an internship with the Department of Defense, applicants must be a U.S. citizen with a minimum 3.2 GPA and be able to receive a Public Trust, Secret, or Top Secret clearance. They must be undergraduate or graduate students, enrolled in a degree-seeking program in an accredited college or university. Students must be returning to school immediately following the internship and attach an official or unofficial transcript to their application. If selected for an internship, proof of registration or enrollment in the semester or quarter immediately following the internship is required. Random drug testing may also be required.
