Applications are now open for the Fall 2026 Young Global Professionals Program, a paid internship designed for students and recent graduates interested in global economics, finance, and international policy.
Hosted by the Atlantic Council through its GeoEconomics Center, the program provides hands-on exposure to policy research, economic analysis, communications, and global affairs programming.
About the Program
The internship offers an immersive learning experience at the intersection of economics, finance, and foreign policy. Selected interns become active contributors to research publications, events, and policy discussions shaping conversations on the global economic system.
Participants will work closely with researchers and program staff while gaining practical experience in analytical work and professional policy environments.
Location & Duration
- Washington, DC, United States
- Minimum 4 days per week (32 hours) in office
- Fall 2026 internship cycle
- Temporary internship position
Compensation
- Paid internship
- USD $18.50 per hour
Key Responsibilities
Interns will support multiple areas of program delivery, including:
- Assisting with event planning, coordination, and on-site management
- Supporting research preparation and publication processes
- Developing data visualizations and infographic content
- Managing and producing social media communications
- Drafting briefing notes, background materials, and correspondence
- Conducting research on emerging economic and geopolitical topics
- Tracking media coverage, program metrics, and stakeholder engagement
- Supporting newsletters and digital knowledge products
Preferred Skills
Additional advantages include:
- Experience with data analysis tools (Excel, statistical software, or programming)
- Familiarity with data visualization or graphic design platforms
- Social media management experience
- Event coordination or teamwork experience
- Exposure to economic data platforms such as Bloomberg or Macrobond
