Applying to the Bangkok Business Challenge 2024, Asia's Longest Running Global Student Startup Competition, is open to undergraduates and postgraduates worldwide, regardless of whether their studies are business-related or not.

This initiative aims to promote the creation of scalable new ventures, give global programme representatives an international platform, generate commercial value for research and development, connect startups with investors and potential partners, and address sustainability issues.

An autonomous, scalable seed-stage startup must seek outside funding for the Bangkok Business Challenge, covering the full business model. Prior to January 2023, ventures totaling more than $100,000 are not permitted.

Purchase orders, business expansions, and consulting assignments are not accepted. Participants must be in-person and have at least a $500k business. All currencies must be in US dollars, and the enterprise cannot have participated in the competition in the past.

Program Benefits

The Global Competition Winner will receive US$18,000, the Winning Institute will receive US$2,000, the First Runner-Up will receive US$3,000, and the Sustainability Award Winner will receive US$5,000. There are also awards for finalists, semi-finalists, best business plans, best presentations, and the KBank 60-Second Pitch Winner.

Eligibility Criteria

Teams may be composed of enrolled students as well as graduates who continued to be students during the 2023 calendar year; these students may be full-time, part-time, undergraduate, or graduate students. Teams must have two to five individuals (not including the faculty advisor), with one non-student member allowed if necessary for the project. Each team must also have at least one member who is presently enrolled in the institution they represent, as well as one faculty advisor from that institution.
