Applications are now open for the AI Governance Taskforce Autumn 2026 Cohort, a 12-week remote research fellowship designed for experienced professionals seeking to transition into the field of AI governance.
The programme focuses on developing practical policy solutions that address catastrophic and systemic risks associated with advanced artificial intelligence.
Open to participants worldwide, the fellowship brings together multidisciplinary teams to conduct policy-oriented research under the guidance of leading experts in AI governance, safety, and public policy. The programme is structured on a part-time basis, allowing participants to continue their existing professional commitments while building expertise in frontier AI governance.
Fellowship Overview
The fellowship will run from 12 October 2026 to 15 January 2027, including a two-week break during the end-of-year holiday period. Participants are expected to dedicate approximately 8 hours per week throughout the programme.
Working in small research teams, fellows will collaborate with Research Team Leaders and experienced practitioners from organizations involved in AI governance, safety research, academia, and public policy. Each team will develop policy-focused research outputs such as academic-style papers, policy briefs, reports, and practical recommendations aimed at informing AI governance discussions.
