Applications are open for the Data Collection and Communication Internship offered by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). This remote internship opportunity is designed for students and recent graduates interested in sustainable development, digital partnerships, youth engagement, and communications.
The internship is hosted by the Bureau of External Relations and Advocacy (BERA), which works to strengthen UNDP’s global voice on sustainable development and build partnerships that accelerate progress toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The role supports activities linked to the digital collaboration between UNDP and Samsung, including the Samsung Global Goals App and the Generation17 program.
Selected interns will assist with data collection, communications content creation, and digital engagement activities aimed at mobilizing global audiences around sustainable development priorities. The internship is conducted remotely and is expected to last 8–10 weeks, with interns contributing approximately 20 hours per week.
Internship Responsibilities
Interns selected for the programme will support several initiatives connected to UNDP’s digital partnerships and youth engagement activities. Responsibilities may include:

Assisting with application processes for the next Generation17 cohort, including form preparation, data collection, filtering, and organization.

Producing communication materials in English and supporting translations when required.

Creating presentations, reports, and structured data sheets using tools such as Excel and PowerPoint.

Supporting the preparation of the Monthly Opportunities Digest for young global leaders.

Identifying collaboration opportunities and engagement activities for youth advocates connected to the Generation17 network.

Updating website content and gathering stories, blogs, and multimedia materials for the Samsung Global Goals App.

Supporting the preparation of fact sheets and statistics used in the application’s content updates.

Developing social media content and visual materials to promote initiatives linked to #Generation17 and SDG awareness.

- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of Spanish or French is considered an advantage.
Professional work experience is not required, although experience with communications, research, editing, or digital media may strengthen an application.
