Climate Changemakers is a cutting-edge, nonpartisan programme that empowers citizens to engage in meaningful, long-term civic engagement to promote fair, science-based policies in the United States at all levels of government. Everyone, from novices to seasoned activists, can engage in constructive climate activism thanks to our extensive resources and "Hour of Action" coworking sessions. Constituent advocacy is a crucial tool for creating the political will necessary to bring about systemic change because it has been shown to have a positive impact on elections and policy. In 2020, a group of volunteers formed Climate Changemakers, which became a nonprofit organisation in 2021 after being incorporated.
Job Description
At a dynamic, fledgling charity, we are seeking an accomplished organiser who is enthusiastic about political climate action and ready to make a major impact. As the main point of contact for volunteers and volunteer leaders, you'll oversee our expanding distributed volunteer network in this position, which offers you the chance to develop and enrich the member base in novel ways. Along with supporting the creation of advocacy campaigns, you will play a crucial role in managing our events.
In addition to providing the chance to study alongside co-founders in a startup setting and obtain invaluable management experience, this dynamic role will adapt to suit the skill set of the right candidate.

The role involves being the primary point of contact for an 8,000+ member Climate Changemakers community, managing Slack, responding to member emails, and managing CRM. The lead organizer will oversee Hour of Action events, manage volunteer leader networks, and coordinate special events. They will also support the Campaigns team in creating volunteer leader recruitment, training, and onboarding systems, assist in creating campaign resources, and support campaign operations. They will recruit and manage skilled volunteers on a project basis and execute flexibly on a dynamic scope of work.

An advantage is having worked on a political campaign before. shown a minimum of a basic awareness of the function of advocacy and the operation of the US government.
Planning and logistical experience for events is a bonus.
