Remote Job Opportunity : GitLab Foundation is hiring a Program Officer

Working closely with nonprofits, community organisations, peer funders, and other stakeholders to promote partnerships and collaborations that optimise programme outcomes, the Programme Officer will oversee a varied portfolio of grants.

Strategic thinking and operational execution are combined in this function, which calls for the person to manage the grant lifecycle and actively participate in field research, strategic planning, and funding partner collaborative design.

You'll be a great fit if you're adaptable, flexible, and ready to put in some major and tiny elbow grease to help. The Senior Programme Officer will be the Programme Officer's supervisor.

About GitLab Foundation

Through global system change, education, training, and job access, the GitLab Foundation helps people increase their lifetime wages. Our North Star objective is to optimise improvements in lifetime earnings for each dollar we invest, helping those who make less than a livable wage to dramatically boost their income. We envision a future where one million more individuals have access to better living conditions.

An independent private foundation connected to GitLab, Inc. is called the GitLab Foundation. GitLab, Inc., its CEO, Sytse "Sid" Sijbrandij, and a few chosen institutional benefactors provide funding for the foundation. We plan to use at least $20 million in impact investment and charitable grantmaking this year. Check out our public guidebook and website to find out more about us.

Our Team

As we create an inventive foundation and a portfolio of international investments, we are assembling a bright, diverse group of executives to work in a highly collaborative start-up atmosphere. Our team should include members from philanthropy, front-line charities, the private sector, research institutions, and beyond because we think that having a varied range of backgrounds and experiences will help us build the strongest team possible. With our organisational values, we hope to foster a climate of respect, curiosity, openness, empathy, experimentation, rigour, and a tendency towards action.

In addition to handling grant administration and working with the Impact Measurement and Analytics team, the role entails procuring, assessing, and tracking investments as well as cultivating strong connections with possible grantees. It also entails putting forward recommendations to the executive leadership, creating efficient grantmaking plans, supporting the strategic orientation of the GitLab Foundation, and keeping abreast of developments in the field of economic mobility research and trends. To maximise the Foundation's effect, this position is essential.

Create and maintain connections to increase our impact and influence.
Create and preserve strategic connections with important decision-makers and peer funders; identify areas of mutual interest in order to plan or take part in co-investment initiatives.
Actively seek out grantees' perspectives to ensure the Foundation stays aware of end-user issues and uses their firsthand knowledge to guide our priorities and investments.
Encourage communication and cooperation amongst grantees, partners, and other ecosystem participants in order to maximise resources, exchange knowledge, and increase impact.
Communicate the Foundation's mission, programme strategies, and impact while representing it at important gatherings and public forums.
Make recommendations to the senior leadership that are consistent with the portfolio strategy; when required, prepare reports and presentations for the GitLab Foundation Board.
