With an ambitious 10-year roadmap (2023–2033), FIA aims to become the most powerful global movement confronting the dominance of the 1%. The organization focuses on both addressing urgent inequalities and promoting people-powered alternatives to the current system.
Role Overview:
FIA is seeking a visionary Regional Coordinator for the Africa region to lead its national and regional alliances. This role is crucial in steering the strategic direction of FIA’s work, ensuring the development and implementation of operational and Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) activities that will amplify FIA’s impact across Africa. The Regional Coordinator will also oversee governance processes at the regional level, support national alliances, and contribute to expanding FIA’s reach to 10,000 member organizations globally by 2027.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead efforts to convene, strengthen, and guide high-quality coalition work within the Africa region.
- Serve as the liaison to the Africa Regional Council, ensuring strong accountability and governance.
- Build the profile of the alliance in the region, developing connections and partnerships to enhance credibility.
- Facilitate the linking of national alliances across Africa and internationally.
- Provide support and strategic guidance to national alliances in the region, ensuring their goals and objectives are achieved.
- Track the progress of national alliances' yearly plans and offer support as needed.
- Mobilize resources for regional secretariats and oversee budgets, plans, and reports.
- Manage funds, reporting to funders, and maintain relationships with fiscal sponsors.
- Supervise National Coordinators in the region, ensuring effective coordination and collaboration.

Additional Information
At least 8 years of experience in organizing and movement-building at the national and regional levels.
A minimum of 4 years’ experience in managing and leading multi-disciplinary teams, ideally within an international or non-profit environment.
Proven experience in designing, leading, and successfully winning campaigns in collaboration with social movements, NGOs, and unions across multiple countries.
Expertise in grant-making and management.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, particularly with government agencies, NGOs, civil society organizations, and community groups.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English (French and other languages are a plus).
A deep commitment to FIA’s values, including a feminist understanding, advocacy for diversity and inclusion, and grassroots organizing.
The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and innovate in communication strategies.
