Selected trainees will receive a monthly stipend (e.g., CHF 700 per month for transport and miscellaneous expenses for the E-Learning & Online Training track), helping to support basic costs during their traineeship period. The role provides meaningful professional experience working with UN training programmes, contributing to the design and evaluation of online courses, supporting workshop coordination, assisting with digital learning material development, and participating in administrative tasks under the guidance of UNITAR specialists. Trainees will also build networks within the United Nations system, enhance their understanding of diplomacy and e-learning platforms, and strengthen their organisational and communication skills in a multicultural international environment. 
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the UNITAR Traineeship 2026, applicants must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or postgraduate degree programme or have graduated within the last two years in disciplines such as international relations, political science, education, law, languages, communication, history, or related fields. This traineeship is designed for early-career individuals who are developing their professional profiles, with demonstrated interest in training methodologies, e-learning, international diplomacy, or global governance. Candidates should possess strong research, analytical, communication, and organisational skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and online collaboration tools; familiarity with learning management systems (such as Moodle or Blackboard) is an advantage. Fluency in English (oral and written) is required, and knowledge of French is considered beneficial.
