UPTO USD 100,000 GRANT AVAILABLE: Apply for this YouthADAPT Challenge 2023: Scaling Up Gender-Responsive Youth Innovations for Climate Action

The African Youth Adaptation Solutions Challenge #YouthADAPTChallenge 2023 is open for applications, offering the opportunity to win a $100,000 grant and receive support for business development. This is especially aimed at young female entrepreneurs with innovative climate adaptation and resilience solutions.

In a broader context, the African Development Bank Group and the Global Centre on Adaptation (GCA) are collaborating on the African Adaptation Acceleration Program (AAAP), a strategic partnership to raise $25 billion for expanding climate change adaptation efforts in Africa. One of its key components is the YouthAdapt, which focuses on empowering young entrepreneurs, particularly female-owned enterprises, working on Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies for climate adaptation in Africa and addressing gender equality in their solutions. Examples of 4IR technologies include artificial intelligence, big data analytics, virtual reality, robotics, the Internet of Things, quantum computing, additive manufacturing, blockchain, and Fifth-generation wireless. These innovations should be practically applied to address climate challenges on the ground in Africa. Funding for this initiative is supported by the Africa Climate Change Fund (ACCF) hosted by the African Development Bank.
