Volunteering Opportunity  : Apply for this Fully Funded High as Giraffe Camp ESC Volunteering in Czech Republic

Invitation for young individuals interested in participating in a two-week summer volunteering camp in Brno, Czech Republic. High as a Giraffe is a brief volunteering initiative coordinated by Hnutí Brontosaurus and financially supported by the European Solidarity Corps programme of the European Union.

Regarding the undertaking

Twenty people will have the wonderful opportunity to meet new people and gain a deeper understanding of their origins through "High as a Giraffe" (10 from the Czech Republic and 10 from other European nations). You will have 14 exciting days filled with new experiences, volunteer activities, adventures, and—above all—making friends during the project period. Additionally, there's a rare chance for you to become more knowledgeable about Czech customs.

To promote respect, understanding, and collaboration between people, activities have been planned. In addition to highlighting Czech customs, the camp programme aims to combat preconceptions and stereotypes. It will be a collaborative effort between participants and myself to create the programme, and sessions will be allowed for individuals to run independently.

For ten days, participants will work five to seven hours a day and take four days off. Depending on the state of the weather and the Alinkov monument's current requirements, the work will change. It's possible that participants are fixing a fence or organising the construction. Participants will prepare some activities in case there isn't a work, but you are welcome to contribute your own. Games, seminars, and information sharing on a range of topics are some examples. It's only natural to take walks by the river, so don't forget your comfortable walking shoes.

What should I pack?

- ID or passport - Invoices, boarding passes, and travel tickets - European Health Insurance Card, if applicable

The application deadline is not set, and the arrival date is July 4th, with the activity period from July 5-18th, and the departure date is August 19th, 2024.
