Do you have a strong interest in the marine sector and a desire to learn more about the intricate details of ship technical management? We are looking for a driven intern to work in our Technical Operations Unit at Greenpeace International!

The Technical Operations Internship is a special chance to support Greenpeace's environmental conservation goal while gaining practical experience in the marine industry, cutting-edge technology, and software implementation.

We are seeking an individual who can begin working with us in June 2024 and stay for a duration of six months. A request for your precise availability will be made during the application procedure.

In this post, you will provide administrative assistance, help the technical operations team monitor vessels, share project information, and deploy new maintenance software.

The internship is designed for students or recent graduates with less than 12 months of experience in a relevant field. Interns will receive a monthly stipend of 800 euros net based on a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week. They are entitled to 2.5 days of leave per month for study or other purposes, coordinated with their supervisor. GPI will provide a laptop and necessary office equipment if required. Travel costs (2nd class) from the intern's home in the Netherlands to the GPI office can be reimbursed. Meal allowances of €5 per day will be provided on working days during office hours. While the Greenpeace International office in Amsterdam is open for work, a combination of remote and office work is common. Candidates should be able to commute to the Amsterdam office when required for meetings or events, and occasional travel outside of Amsterdam may be necessary, with costs covered. Interns must be eligible to work legally in the Netherlands and obtain a registered address (BSN) and Dutch health insurance, which can be arranged with assistance from the HR administration team if needed.

Essential abilities and proficiencies:

An engineering, maritime studies, or similar subject background is preferred, as is comparable experience.

proficiency in spoken and written English.

IT expertise, encompassing the use of Microsoft Office Suite and other pertinent applications.

Capacity to operate both individually and jointly in a changing setting.

ardour for protecting the environment and compatibility with the principles and objectives of Greenpeace.
