With a USD 15,000 grant : Contest for the CapSha South–South Collaboration Innovation Pitch Challenge 2026

Applications are now open for the CapSha South–South Collaboration Innovation Pitch Challenge 2026, an initiative by the CGIAR Capacity Sharing (CapSha) Accelerator that supports innovative partnerships aimed at strengthening agricultural research, extension, education, and innovation systems across the Global South.

The challenge invites National Agricultural Research, Extension and Education Systems (NAREES) institutions from Africa, Asia, and Latin America and the Caribbean to submit innovative proposals that promote long-term institutional collaboration, knowledge co-creation, and sustainable capacity development.

Rather than focusing on short-term training activities, the programme seeks scalable approaches that encourage equitable partnerships, mutual learning, and lasting institutional transformation.

Grant Awards

Three outstanding proposals will each receive a USD 15,000 grant, with one award allocated to each of the following regions:

  • Africa
  • Asia
  • Latin America and the Caribbean

A total of USD 45,000 will be awarded through the challenge.

Programme Objectives

The initiative aims to:

  • Strengthen collaboration between CGIAR and NAREES institutions.
  • Promote equitable capacity-sharing partnerships.
  • Encourage co-creation of knowledge and innovation.
  • Support South–South and North–South knowledge exchange.
  • Develop scalable models for improving national agrifood research and innovation systems.
  • Foster sustainable learning networks and Communities of Practice.

Institutions working to strengthen agricultural research, innovation, and sustainable food systems are encouraged to submit proposals that demonstrate collaborative, inclusive, and long-term approaches to capacity sharing across the Global South.
