With Grants of €5,000 and €15,000 : Submit proposals for the Play for Nature Grant Program

The yearly call for ideas from Play for Nature is now open to any associations working to conserve biodiversity that are looking to fund their projects.

Requests for proposals are being made to associations worldwide for biodiversity conservation, with the goal of encouraging action to save endangered species and ecosystems, especially through sports.

Classifications
Submissions of projects must fit into one of two categories:
Biodiv'Monde is a biodiversity conservation project that uses practical measures like scientific monitoring, ecosystem restoration, environmental education, etc. to safeguard an ecosystem or endangered species.

Biodiv'Sport is a biodiversity conservation initiative that uses organised sports, community awareness-building, and the practice of sport to safeguard endangered species or ecosystems.

Projects That Qualify
Two kinds of initiatives are funded by them:
undertakings aimed at conserving biodiversity, including scientific research, monitoring of plants and animals, and the reintroduction of persons who have raised awareness through campaigns, informational seminars, and educational initiatives in schools.
Sport and the staging of athletic events are being used by biodiversity conservation projects as a means of increasing population awareness and disseminating important messages about biodiversity protection.

The suggested projects must always have a distinct focus on biodiversity conservation, with a goal of safeguarding particular ecosystems or threatened species. Additionally, locals must be involved in the project's efforts in some way, whether it be through education initiatives, awareness-raising campaigns, or direct involvement in the association's activities.

Projects falling under the Biodiv'Sport category are required to incorporate sport into a larger project aiming at conserving biodiversity, especially by means of educational and awareness-raising campaigns directed towards the public and local authorities. The following categories could fall under this:
the organisation driving the project's organisation of current or upcoming athletic activities.

collaboration with an already-running athletic event run by a sports group or organisation to further the conservation efforts of the organisation.

Project managers have the option to host yearly or recurring events. When it comes to recurring events, this will be considered one project.

Every initiative must be planned with the goal of educating as many people as possible about the need of preserving ecosystems, endangered species, sustainable resource usage, etc. Therefore, in addition to athletes, schoolchildren, residents, and local government representatives who are indirectly impacted by the project area, raising awareness can also involve participation in tangible initiatives like reforestation.

Don't miss out on the application deadline which is August 25, 2024.
