With a USD $3,200 stipend/month :Apply for the CARICOM Fellowship at the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) 

The aim of this initiative is to provide a platform for young solicitors from OAS member states in the Caribbean to comprehend and utilise the procedures of the inter-American human rights system.

Programme: For the duration of the Fellowship, the fellow will assist with the work of the Monitoring Section 3 of the ES/IACHR, overseen by experts and the Section coordinator.

Responsibilities include researching the state of human rights in particular nations and preparing the corresponding reports.
surveillance of the Caribbean region's human rights conditions.
Encourage the creation of country, theme, and annual reports; in particular, those that focus on human rights in the Caribbean.
writing memoranda and other paperwork for the Commission's visits, working meetings, and hearings.
drafting summaries, briefings, and other documentation for ES/IACHR visits, working meetings, and hearings.
participation in campaigns aimed at advancing and popularising the inter-American human rights system.
Draft messages, press releases, or other communications about the state of human rights in the Caribbean region.
Additional tasks that are assigned that are associated with the Fellowship's goal.

obligations for the individual chosen to start the fellowship:

The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights must receive a formal written acceptance of the fellowship from the chosen candidate attesting to their full availability to start the fellowship work remotely and with due diligence. To finish the fellowship, the individual might have to travel to the IACHR offices, depending on future developments.
The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights must be notified right once if the fellowship is accepted but, for any reason, cannot be completed. This will allow the commission to decide what steps should be taken and make the required arrangements.

The chosen candidate must possess the required technology in order to start the fellowship virtually on the day set by the IACHR.
Should the fellowship be resigned, cancelled, or terminated after the programme has started, and the SE/IACHR is not able to provide sufficient proof of the reason, the SE/IACHR shall receive full reimbursement for all costs incurred on their behalf.

Throughout the fellowship, a monthly stipend of US $3,200.00 is provided by the SE/IACHR. The fellowship recipient must use the aforementioned stipend to acquire health insurance of their choosing for the period of the fellowship. They must also provide written documentation of this purchase to the IACHR Executive Secretariat.
Those who successfully finish the fellowship for the entire time will get a certificate of participation from the ES/IACHR.
Depending on resources available, the fellowship recipient may attend one of the SE/IACHR's promotional events in person.
Eligibility Criteria
Hold a citizenship in any of the following nations: Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago.
Possess the tools and services you need to operate remotely, such as a reliable internet connection that supports video calls.
proficiency in the language of English. Spanish proficiency or advanced knowledge is a big plus. French or Portuguese language proficiency is seen as advantageous.
a copy of your law degree from an officially recognised university.
granted a law degree within the last seven years.
Human rights-related experience in the workplace or classroom.
Application Procedure
Required Files: In order for applications for this fellowship to be taken into consideration, the following files must be submitted:
curriculum vitae.
a copy of the law degree that was awarded no more than seven years ago.
One recommendation letter, either professional or academic.
Certificate of language proficiency (if not available, please send an explanation note). In the case when English is your first language, no language certificate is required. A certificate attesting to your ability in other languages should be attached.
a letter of cover explaining your qualifications in relation to the job needs and why your profile is a suitable fit.
