Students from developing countries who are interested in pursuing a postgraduate degree in Munich, Germany, can apply for the 2025 DAAD MIPLC Scholarship now.
The Munich Intellectual Property Law Center (MIPLC) offers scholarships through the DAAD's "Development-Related Postgraduate Courses" program, specifically targeting students from developing nations.
This initiative, part of DAAD's development-oriented postgraduate programs, aims to train specialists from developing and newly industrialized countries.
These scholarships provide an opportunity for foreign graduates from these regions, who have at least two years of professional experience, to pursue a postgraduate or Master’s degree at a state or recognized German university.
In exceptional cases, the program also allows for the pursuit of a doctoral degree, enabling recipients to earn a university qualification (Master’s/PhD) in Germany. These well-trained experts are expected to contribute significantly to the sustainable development of their home countries through international networks.

- A full waiver of MIPLC tuition fees.
- A monthly stipend of EUR 934 (totaling €11,208 annually).
- Coverage for health, accident, and liability insurance in Germany.
- A travel allowance, provided these expenses are not covered by the recipient's home country or another funding source.
- An allowance for study and research-related expenses.
- A mandatory two-month German language course before the start of the MIPLC LL.M. program (held in August and September in Munich or another German city).
Given that the DAAD scholarship includes a full fee waiver, simultaneous application for MIPLC financial assistance is required.
- You must be from a developing country, as defined by the OECD DAC list, and have not resided outside your home country (or another developing country) for more than the last two years.
- You should possess at least a four-year Bachelor's degree (or a three-year Bachelor's degree with an additional degree) and have graduated with above-average academic results.
- Your most recent degree should have been obtained no more than six years prior to your application.
- You need to have at least two years of full-time professional experience in a public authority, state, or private company in a developing country. This experience must be completed by February of the year you intend to begin your studies at MIPLC.
- The primary target group for this scholarship is not scientific university staff or academics, although they may be considered in exceptional circumstances.
