Mountaintop Fellowship: Empowering Local Leaders for Systems Change
The Mountaintop Fellowship offers exceptional local leaders a paid, one-year, full-time opportunity to drive transformative change in lower-income communities worldwide.
They provide:
- $3,600 grant
- Fully funded two-week leadership institute at Harvard University's Edmond & Lily Safra Center for Ethics
- Personalized 1:1 mentorship
- Additional grant opportunities
- Lifelong community of inspiring peers
They seek candidates who:
1. Demonstrate commitment to serving their home country, community, or state/province throughout their career.
2. Agree to attend a two-week, in-person training at Harvard (July 12-23, 2025; all costs covered).
3. Dedicate 40 hours/week to the fellowship project.
4. Commit 5 hours/week to virtual activities (mentorship, speaker sessions, peer meetings).
Project Proposal
Applicants must propose a full-time project addressing a challenge in their home community, explaining how the fellowship will help them stay rooted and drive systems change.
Project Examples
- Leading a social enterprise
- Advocating for policy changes
- Working with a high-impact government agency, NGO, or social venture
- Developing an existing initiative or starting something new
They prioritize candidates serving lower-income communities outside the United States. Fellowships do not support political campaigns or research.
Application Notes
- Candidates may hold a separate full-time job, provided the fellowship supports an independent, high-impact project within that role.
- Written proof of supervisor approval is required for such applicants.
